High School Registration - Steps to complete NOW
To officiate middle and high school games with Capital Referees, complete all of the steps below.
Step 1: Register with TASO
Create or renew your account with the Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO). This is the statewide governing body for high school officials, and should be completed first: Register at TASO.org
Step 2: Pay Your Capital Referees Dues
Pay your annual membership dues directly to Capital Referees. This is your local membership and is separate from your TASO registration: Pay Dues
Step 3: Pay Your $100 Assigning Fee Deposit
Pay your $100 assigning fee deposit by December 31. This deposit is required to be eligible to referee — A change for this season is that Capital Referees will collect assignor fees. You can pay your assignor fees while registering with Capital Referees: Pay Assigning Fee Deposit

Step 4: Submit Your W-9
Because you're paid as an independent contractor for assigned games, we need a completed W-9 on file before you can be paid.
Step 5: Complete Training & Pass the Test
In the fall, TASO releases required training and a test that every official must complete before working a regular-season game. We'll email all members as soon as it's available — watch your inbox.
